Gameplay
Kratos returns as the main character, following his wrathful and madness-fueled adventures in Greece, which culminated in the fall of Olympus and the deaths of many Greek gods and heroes. Fleeing to the far North, Kratos seeks peace, finding new love and starting a family. However, when his wife dies unexpectedly, he is left alone to raise his young son, Atreus.
Peace is short-lived, as the Norse gods are aware of Kratos’ role in the destruction of Olympus and view him as a threat. This forces Kratos and Atreus to embark on a perilous journey, battling demonic and mythical creatures. Along the way, Kratos confronts the consequences of his past and the unresolved anger within him. Tension builds as Atreus gradually learns more about his father’s history, causing his trust in him to waver. Check other games in this site!
Throughout the game, players explore expansive levels filled with hidden secrets, passages, and optional enemy encounters. The series’ signature epic boss battles return, but instead of relying on quick-time events, players now have full control of Kratos’ movements during combat. Boss fights feature two bars above their heads one for health and another indicating their stun status.
Atreus plays a key role in combat as well, with players able to issue him commands via a separate button. He can assist by shooting arrows and, like his father, gains experience, new skills, and combat abilities as the adventure progresses.
